Job Description :

The Transportation Supervisor is responsible route management, dispatching drivers and driver helpers, scheduling shifts
, ensuring company standards, and administering departmental procedures. Full Time – Salaried Position – Schedule 6am-4pm Monday thru Friday – Flexibility


Dispatch drivers; find replacement drivers as necessary.
Manage and direct Drivers/Driver Helpers; perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage personnel assigned, including:

Recruiting and maintaining a qualified staff.
Communicate areas of responsibility and performance expectations, creating clear goals and expectations; ensure accountability for performance.
Conduct timely and constructive employee evaluations.
Assist as needed in onboarding new associates and retraining of existing drivers.
Foster a cooperative and harmonious work environment to maximize employee morale and productivity.

Investigate, handle and/or report accident claims to appropriate associates as outlined in the accident reporting procedures. Document and enforce safety policy.
Responsible for weekly scheduling of drivers, driver vacation schedules and other time off.
Assist with road testing new drivers.
Research and outsource billable equipment repair to alternate vendors, where appropriate, to reduce costs.
Create new routes / holiday schedules and review associated costs with Transportation Manager. Communicate delivery schedules and delivery windows to Sales Team.
Review driver qualification files as appropriate.
Check in drivers to ensure paperwork compliance, including but not limited to BOL paperwork, backhaul paperwork, shipping logs, checks, return sheet and reconciliation with invoices.
Review and enter driver ‘s logs into People Net daily, ensuring drivers complete as required.
Maintain DOT file for trucks and trailers.
Compile data for weekly transportation and maintenance reports.
Coordinate with Fleet Safety the drivers’ license and medical cards renewals.
Participate in budget process and review operation for increased efficiencies and new streams of revenue.
Review and report Company compliance rate to the Transportation Manager as appropriate.
Attend all mandatory safety meetings.
Embrace a high regard for safety; observe all safety policies and procedures and serve as a role model for others.
Perform all job duties in accordance with HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a highly ethical manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Lead and serve as a role model to others by consistent demonstration of high ethical standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

AA/AS degree in relevant field and related experience, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience, with minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or lead role. Must have a clean driving record. Valid Class A CDL license and medical certification preferred. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. English/Spanish bilingual skills useful.


Office setting; occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Flexibility is required regarding tasks and work schedules. Weekends, holiday and evening work hours may be required.
