Job Description :
We’re looking for a knowledgeable Medical Assistant to be able to work Front and Back Office to help our clinic provide quality healthcare to clients in a welcoming environment. As an front office assistant, you will work in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting. A degree of computer knowledge is required to complete your job duties. As an back office assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider). Ultimately, the job requires great communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a professional environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors, checks patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation. Verify and enter demographic information.
Obtain and verify insurance authorizations/precertification. Complete medical record release requests and schedules/confirms patient appointments.
Enter, review, and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.
Maintaining supplies and equipment as designated by the office manager.
Performing computer skills in patient billing, charting, scheduling, insurance claims, and accounts receivable.
Must demonstrate effective listening or communication skills while promoting teamwork and a purposeful working environment.
Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
Perform select clinical duties.
Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients’ charts.
Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
May document the provider’s encounter with patients. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
Administer medications and injections under the direction of the provider, preparing and handling instruments and supplies, collecting and preparing specimens for lab testing and any other assistance needed in the completion of administrative and clinical tasks.
