The Manager of Marketing Communications for the Industrial Wood Division of Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group will be a results-focused leader who will have the responsibility to translate business strategies into marketing communications campaigns, prioritize the tactics to be built by the Performance Coatings Group Creative Services and Digital Marketing teams to bring those campaigns to life, and execute those campaigns to drive measurable business results for the Industrial Wood Coatings (IWC) division.
This role manages all sales enablement activity and marketing communications content development for the Sherwin-Williams Brand and AcromaPro distributor brand in the United States, Canada, and Latin America . Working from established focus market, segment, and brand strategy, this position manages the execution of activities in support of division sales and share growth goals. All aspects of promotion, including digital marketing, sales collateral, advertising, and trade shows, are managed by this position. The role’s primary customer is the North American sales organization; as such, success of the role is measured by brand awareness and sales-accepted leads that directly and indirectly generate regional revenue and margin growth.
Strategic Marketing
Support divisional leadership and Vice President of Marketing on creation of annual Operating Plan. Lead the communication of key initiatives from that operating plan to internal teams via sales meeting speeches and content, powerpoints, and webinars to ensure alignment toward business goals.
Translate business growth requirements into actionable marketing communications strategies with defined target audience, meaningful differentiation, and appropriate activities to execute.
Work with Industry Directors to create annual marketing plans that achieve segment growth and brand growth.
Campaign Execution (New product launches, segment demand gen campaigns, promotions, trade shows)
Budget owner of marketing communications initiatives including trade shows, advertising, annual sales meeting, collateral printing, association memberships, etc.
Directly manage marketing communications specialist.
Serve as a key member of divisional marketing team, interfacing daily with Product Management, Industry Marketing, Strategic Accounts, and Sales.
Coordinate and prioritize projects and requests and clearly communicate strategy, timeline and budgets for those projects to Creative Services and Digital Marketing teams.
Leverage resources across teams and campaigns wherever possible to drive efficiencies and share best practices.
Manage localization and customization of campaigns to optimize impact.
Measure campaign effectiveness and report both to divisional and group leadership and to peers in formal debrief sessions to drive continuous improvement.
Public Relations and Thought Leadership
Owner of and primary point of contact for wood manufacturing and woodworking trade press relationships.
Leverage Creative Services team to write press releases. Manage approval process through division. Owner of release process either via wire service, email to target trade media list,either within team or using external agency.
Align PR calendar with Corporate Communications.
Collaborate with Digital Marketing team to ensure coordination of web site with external announcements.
Coordinate divisional crisis communications with Corporate Communications as needed.
Own editorial calendar for the region and manage syndication of content across owned, earned, and paid media venues
Work closely with sales organization to drive awareness and utilization of content, as well as ideation for new content
Internal communications
Coordinate ongoing communications to field sales and technical teams, including webinars and email newsletters. Collaborate with Digital teams on best practices, content creation, and management of those tools.
Oversee SW Connections communities for teams by division and region. Lead training efforts and apply best practices across communities wherever possible.
Maintain divisional MySherwin pages as needed, working closely with Human Resources and Corporate Communications.
Events
Content and programming for IWC sales meeting in North America, with support of regional teams for Latin America, EMEAI, and Asia meetings. Executive speeches, breakouts, giveways/handouts, and guest speakers if applicable.
Registration leadership for IWC sales meeting in North America, including management of invitee list, coordination with Creative Services on utilization of online registration platform, and onsite check-in for all attendees.
Coordination on vendor show content and programming with Associated Products Team.
Programming support for customer meetings held throughout the year, including but not limited to Designer events and Palette Assessments held at Global Color & Design Center, blending facility open house events, formal onsite customer trainings, and formal customer presentations.
Digital
Provide content and manage calendar for Industrial Wood social media accounts.
Collaborate with regional teams in EMEAI and Asia on content sharing.
Own content for industrial wood areas of oem.sherwin.com, acromapro.com, and serve as core team member on creation of new web site for IWC.

8-10 years marketing communications experience.
Campaign management experience.
Trade Show management experience.
Preferred:
Thriving in highly matrixed environment.
Experience in furniture, cabinetry, building products, flooring, or wood coatings.
