Job Description :

The Manager, Market Development role is responsible for leading and managing a team comprised of Market Development Representatives to meet or exceed established goals. This role provides training, coaching, and direction regarding sales opportunity creation, enhanced closed/won conversion strategies within set territories, inbound leads or outbound campaigns and collaborates with management to execute on sales opportunity creation, strategy, and growth initiatives.


Guides, coaches, develops, and leads team members to collaborate and coordinate with Business Units, other Sales teams, and stakeholders to attain or exceed all key performance indicators and revenue goals including bookings retention and growth.

Drives accountability of sales opportunity creation, closed/won conversion goals as well as OKRs, KPIs and growth targets, supports development plans, and mentors individuals on the team to maximize their growth and potential.

Collaborates with next level management and peers to develop and execute on business plan to expand business into new accounts as well as to cross sell into existing customers.

Coordinates operational and strategic activities internally to improve customer experience and strengthen corporate processes across Onboarding, Support, Sales, Customer Experience, Business Intelligence, Product, IT, Customer Communications, Billing and Finance and is responsible for coordination of activity across the Change Healthcare enterprise.

Maintains familiarity with assigned product areas and customer business in the context of the overall health care industry. Understands how each sales group and solution/service differentiates itself in markets and creates value by showing how the Change Healthcare portfolio can support/maximize their differentiation.

Maintains and expands relational footprint within assigned team, focusing but not limited to Director, VP and C-suite contacts.

Ensures team members deliver weekly action plans and end-of-day reporting on a weekly basis.

Manages current and upcoming outbound campaigns with MDR team to ensure success metrics are achieved.

Collaborates with campaign stakeholders in advance, during and at the completion of all campaigns

Ensures team members maintain accuracy of activity documentation in all corporate repositories such as Salesforce, Siebel, and Contract Administration.

Serves as secondary escalation point for MDR AVP leadership, when necessary, across organization and/or point of escalation and guidance for direct report team members as needed to ensure account coverage.


Education/Training –

Bachelor’s degree in related area of study or equivalent experience.

Business Experience –

Minimum of 8 years of customer – facing and related sales experience within the Healthcare industry ideally with at least 1 year of experience managing or leading others and track-record of achievement.

Leadership/management experience guiding and developing others through periods of change preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills –

Conflict management and customer service skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization and collaborate as necessary to accomplish goals.

Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and lead others to exceed goals with results-oriented style, high degree of analytical ability and proven problem-solving skills.

Proven track record of successful management, service and/or bookings retention and growth activities for complex customers or projects.

Professional and effective communication skills required including presenting in front of a larger group, comfort with conversations at a leadership level, and ability to create clarity and improve collaboration at all levels within complex and diverse organizations.

Highly organized and capable of driving multiple projects to completion simultaneously.

Ability to follow standard sales process to accurately forecast and convert opportunities into sales

Successful track record of working as a part of dynamic, fast-paced and growing teams that are results oriented and collaborative.

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and Web-based conferencing tools.

Willingness and ability to travel, typically but not limited to internal meetings, trainings and events. Expected less than 20% of the time.

Working Conditions:

Environment – Remote and office environment, up to 10% travel required.

Physical Requirements – Sitting, standing, walking, and using keyboard, mouse, computer, and telephone.
