Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing support for managing and implementation of capital equipment strategic sourcing programs for a multi-facility, integrated delivery network (IDN). This position shall be an employee of HealthTrust, dedicated to Tenet Health. The primary objective is to negotiate industry-leading contracts with best-in-class pricing, terms and conditions, and leading practice service levels. This position will work closely with IDN supply chain leadership, service line directors, GPO sourcing, IDN strategic sourcing, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to coordinate efforts from contract strategy through contract execution. This position will be involved in identification, execution, and optimization of the GPO contract portfolio, identification of standardization and utilization opportunities, and measuring and monitoring the implementation of initiatives to contribute to the IDNs overall strategic plan as it relates to capital equipment services.

Individual must demonstrate knowledge or prior experience in principles and concepts related to sourcing, contract management, capital budgeting, equipment inventory, and equipment service, maintenance and end of life replacement strategies. Individual must demonstrate knowledge of the industry or organization, processes, suppliers, customers, and contract terms and conditions.

The position’s key area of focus will be sourcing initiatives in the capital equipment services space including budgeting, planning, acquisition, management, and disposition for routine capital as well as construction/renovation projects and clinical initiatives. The position may have responsibility for other categories for the purposes of development and/or team workload allocation.
Work with customer to determine key contract terms, conditions, service levels, KPI’s, and pricing and directly manage and negotiate redlines with vendors
Work directly with member to capture and analyze contracts, data and complete analysis and reporting per end-user’s specific needs
Prepare RFX contract templates and analyze responses for capital equipment budgeting, bulk-buys or other strategic capital equipment related initiatives
Collaborates with member to drive savings or standardization initiatives, contract compliance and resolve off-contract issues/exceptions
Prepare presentations, executive summaries, and other documentation for customers and HealthTrust team

Contracting Competencies:

Standardization of capital equipment vendors and agreements as appropriate
Coordination with GPO National and Custom contracting resources
Tracks execution, implementation, savings on an on-going basis to ensure high quality service delivery and savings achieved
Demonstrates thorough understanding and accountability for the sourcing process for their assigned portfolio, including Market Research, Strategy Development & Validation, RFP, Contract Negotiations, and contract launch
Ability to effectively negotiate contract terms, conditions, pricing, service levels, key performance indications by working collaboratively with customer and supplier

Supplier Knowledge:

Develop and use knowledge about supplier to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, anticipate direction of the market and potential supplier direction.

Responsible for managing customer expectations and implementing cost savings initiatives according to estimated timelines

Continuously defines and improves customer solutions as it relates to the customer’s programs

Accredited College Bachelor’s Degree required (Supply Chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance)


5 years of relevant work experience preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in strategic sourcing, medical capital equipment, and/or biomedical engineering.
