CPG is currently hiring an Equipment Operator in Columbus, OH!
The position is first shift, Monday through Friday. The pay rate for this position starts at $18 an hour, and varies depending on experience. Benefits are offered the first of the month following your start date, and include dental, medical, vision, a 401k option with up to a 6% company match, PTO, and FSA, and much more!
CPG® specializes in transportation services including container and domestic trucking, container depot operations, rail, warehousing and logistics throughout the Midwest, Ohio Valley, Gulf and East coast of the United States.
An Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating all forms of terminal operations machinery including, but not limited to top lifts, forklifts and spotters.
This position is a first shift, full-time, Monday through Friday opportunity. Benefits are offered the first of the month following your start date, and include dental, medical, and vision benefits, as well as a 401k option with up to a 6% company match, an FSA, and much more!
Pre-trips all machinery and completed paperwork of the inspection
Performs lifts and equipment spots in a safe and efficient manner
Provides customer unit segregation, making efficient operations possible
Produces accurate lift and/or spotting records
Assists mechanics and/or inspectors as required
Provides daily preventative maintenance checks of equipment as required
Escalates equipment mechanical issues to Lead Equipment Operator
Verifies equipment assignments
Communicates with others appropriately to ensure efficient equipment usage
Performs other duties as assigned
Possess valid state-issued driver’s license
Experience operating heavy machinery
Proficient with technology
Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees
Experience working outdoors year-round
Experience in the intermodal industry
Competitive compensation – STARTING at $18.00/hr. depending upon experience
