Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Oxide operators are responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient equipment operation of the Oxide and Hydrate plants. All operators are expected to work as a team and use consensus decision making to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Each operator should strive to be self-directed while maintaining communication with the area team leaders. It is required to know or be able to locate all customer key measures. These key measures should be used as a tool in decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Good safety record 2. Good work record 3. Absence rate equal to or less than 3% for the period 02/01/21 through 01/31/22 (excluding STD qualified absences). Regular, predictable attendance as per job schedule 4. Physical condition which permits performance of job 5. No fear of heights or confined spaces 6. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently 7. Ability to understand and perform written and spoken instructions 8. Ability to qualify on and operate forklifts and other plant equipment 9. Ability to perform mathematical calculations 10. Ability to understand and work with machinery, mechanical and chemical processes 11. Ability to work without close supervision 12. Ability to use good judgement and handle emergencies dependably. Confronts situations, reacting quickly and effectively in emergency situations, reflects on root cause to learn from experience 13. Maintain clear and reliable records 14. Ability to complete Hazmat training 15. Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license 16. Ability to utilize personal computers and process control software. 17. Must be able to wear a respirator
