WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
As the Director of Construction and Design, you will be responsible for the implementation of Design and Construction guidelines and managing all architectural and construction activities involved with new and remodeled locations. You will provide ongoing professional construction and design assistance to Paris Baguette, prototype improvements and supervise the development process, including construction, and incorporate process-driven improvements. The ideal candidate will help to achieve our vision of re-establishing the neighborhood bakery cafe as the heart of the community around the world.

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all facets of project development process for new locations including layouts, CD’s, construction and openings.
Supervise and maintain the construction process while managing the construction of new locations.
Manage preferred Architects and General Contractors and source others as needed.
Prepare scope of work, project delivery requirements, cost estimates and risk identification as required for projects.
Track progress of all projects against approved timelines and goals. Reports on project status and potential delays and then implements an action plan to meet objectives as needed for on time opening.
Implement the company’s business policies, programs, specifications and procedures related to planning, design and construction of Paris Baguette locations
Undertake all reasonable measures to ensure that all agreed too new store build/ relocations/ remodels are met for franchisee markets.
Provide bakery/franchise design assistance and construction project management support to the teams in order to ensure new openings and redevelopments are up to corporate standards.
Keep abreast of bakery/franchise industry practice regarding development plans, design standards and related cost and maintain liaison with Paris Baguette team in order to identify, cascade, and implement global programs and regional initiatives.
Provide bakery/franchise design assistance and construction project management support to the teams in order to ensure new openings and redevelopments are up to corporate standards
Perform assigned tasks as determined by the Chief Development Officer.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction, or related field
5-7 years Architecture/Construction experience in Commercial/Retail/Hospitality/Entertainment industry
Experience in the Architectural field including commercial and retail related activities
Progressive leadership experience in a fast paced and rapidly growing retail environment. Must have a proven background in multi-unit restaurant operations leading 100+ locations.
Experience with a fast growing Franchise company, required.
Experience with high velocity new store openings, required.
Bakery/Café experience preferred.
Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible management style, with a successful record of accomplishment of managing senior operations leaders across a large geographically decentralized portfolio.
