Essential Function
Strategic leadership
In collaboration with faculty, staff, and students on the Findlay Campus, develop priorities and needs for the campus.
Under the direction of the Provost and with input and coordination of other department and division leads, develop and implement a plan for instruction, student support, information technology, institutional effectiveness, and facilities that aligns with the College Strategic.
Plan and the Academic Master Plan
Participate in and support shared governance by serving as a member on committees called by the President, Chief Academic Officer, and other College committees, councils, and campus organizations.
Foster an open educational attitude and develop a team concept for College unity through developing strong working relationships and communications with other Deans, Directors, Vice Presidents, College President, and other college administrators.
Represent the academic interests and needs of the campus to college administration.
Create and sustain an environment that fosters positive faculty, staff, and student morale, academic rigor, and instructional excellence.
Promotes an environment that fosters respect for diversity and equity.
Essential Function
Operational leadership for an effective, efficient, and dynamic College.
Work with other Academic Deans and Department Chairs to plan, develop, and schedule classes each term by selecting needed courses and program areas identified by input from community members, students, and others.
Work with all college divisions to develop and maintain a standard of communication related to campus operations, activities, services, etc.
Assess training and education needs of the Findlay and Handcock county community in collaboration with Workforce and Community Services.
Establish and maintain relationships with area educational and community leaders (K–12 partners, local colleges and universities, government, county, business and industry, non-profit organizations, economic development, chamber) to ensure that programs are meeting the needs and expectations of the community.
Act as a liaison between academic leadership and area educational and community leaders.
Implement and manage Findlay Dean budget.
Participate in efforts to recruit, retain, and graduate students from college programs.
Resolve complaints and grievances of students, staff, and faculty while ensuring that established policies are followed in those resolutions.
Be the contact for troubleshooting student, faculty, and technology situations and determining appropriate action (contacting appropriate staff or department).

Represents the college to external stakeholders.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with area educational and community leaders (K–12 partners, local colleges and universities, government, county, business and industry, non-profit organizations, economic development, chamber) to ensure that programs are meeting the needs and expectations of the community.

Provides college support by attending college, community, and professional events.
Cultivates development opportunities for and supports development efforts of the Owens Foundation.
